Design goals
What the game is trying to do The Classic Experience Traditional heroic fantasy with better mechanics: vertical power scaling, varied adventures, tactical
combat, and at least the occasional dungeon crawl.
Controlled Power Scaling Not perfect balance, but encounters should be legible. Each level aims to multiply a creature’s overall
combat power by about 1.4×, so GMs can judge whether a fight will be easy, challenging, or overwhelming.
A Crunchy Character-Building Minigame PCs are highly customizable through modular subclasses rather than traditional classes. NPCs and monsters
use similar building rules, giving the GM the same toolkit.
Streamlined Gameplay Keep temporary and situational dice modifiers to a minimum. The goal is fewer moving parts to track and
less to hold in your head during play.
VTT-Friendly by Design A VTT is a soft requirement: it handles the more complex dice rolls and supports the game’s non-grid
battlemap positioning system.
Embrace the Dodecahedron D12s are beautiful and historically underused. Z-Wolf is based all around them ... and even has the number 12 hidden in a few other places as a tribute.
